A draft law on amendments to the Federal Law No. 61 “On the Circulation of Medicines”, which extends the list of pharmacy products, has been submitted to the State Duma by deputies A. Petrov, O. Ivaninsky and T. Kusaiko.

It is proposed to allow pharmacies to sell, among other things, orthopedic products and devices, mosquito and other insect repellents, household chemicals with antimicrobial properties, devices that purify (disinfect) air, water, tools and devices used for cosmetic purposes, soft drinks , bottled drinking water, juices, nectars (including baby food), essential oils and products containing essential oils, electrical appliances, and (or) household appliances used to maintain health and (or) in sanitary and hygienic purposes, products containing a high concentration of nutrients (nuts, seeds, oils, lactose-containing and gluten-free products), products for nutrition of athletes.

The submission of the bill became possible due to a joint initiative of the Association of Consumer Health Products, the Russian Association of Pharmacy Chains, the SoyuzPharma Association and other industry associations. The purpose of the bill is to increase the availability of consumer health products for the population.
