On January 18, 2022, The Association of Consumer Health Industry and the National Medical Chamber signed a memorandum of understanding. The signing took place during the meeting between Elena Nevolina, Executive Director of the Association of Consumer Health Industry, and Leonid Roshal, President of the National Medical Chamber, where the parties discussed possible common projects aimed at forming a culture of responsible self-care, the role of professional organizations in health care in improving the quality and life expectancy of the Russian population, the current challenges that the medical and pharmacists’ communities are facing due to the spread of the COVID-19.

Among the priority steps of interaction between ACHI and National Medical Chamber were plans to work together on recommendations for doctors and pharmacists to provide patients with information on the rational use of OTC drugs and consumer medical devices, to conduct training activities (lectures, seminars) for healthcare providers, to improve the legislative framework in the field of public health and drug circulation, as well as to introduce qualified pharmaceutical counseling, including the involvement of the expertise of the National Pharmacists Chamber, with which the Association of Consumer Health Industry agreed to cooperate in December 2021.
