GSCF published the report on the 2nd phase of the Self-care Readiness Index.
The Global Self-care Federation published the report on the 2nd phase of the Self-care Readiness Index.
The Index is an advocacy-centered research initiative which identifies "key enablers" that increase "readiness for self-care » in the healthcare system:
1. Stakeholder support and adoption (healthcare providers, consumers, regulators)
2. Consumer and patient empowerment (access to personal health data, consumer health literacy, self-testing, digital tools for patient empowerment & self-care)
3. Self-care health policy
4. Regulatory environment
The SCRI has been implemented since 2021 and is supported by the World Health Organisation (WHO). It serves as a catalyst for further debate on the importance of self-care as an effective tool to improve the long-term sustainability and productivity of health care systems and aims to enhance individual health outcomes.
The report and other information is available at the GSCF web-site.
